Late Nights Pay off at City of INK! BANG!BANG!

One of my lovely customers came in with an idea with a garter belt.  Let me tell you it was hella late at night.  Most would've set up an appointment and gave here a traditional garter belt.   There's nothing wrong with that.  But, at City of Ink, it's all about being different.  So, I suggested a more creative approach.  She bit into Cake (lol.) and liked what I gave her.  We both left at 2:30 am extremly happy.

Part 1 : The Importance of Session Work

In the begining of my career I felt as though timing was everything....Now, my eyes have been opened.  I realize that tattooing is like cooking collard greens.  In order to get that smooth, pleasuring taste you must slow cook that tattoo.  Take your time.  That ensures for the best work possible.

Here's an example.  I'm not finished with this piece yet, but I know when it's done it'll be another one of a good fix- up tattoo.  This tattoo my client came in with...

(NOT MY WORK!!!!! Client came in with this...)

This next picture is from the first session...with a little clean up and shading you can already see the progression...

Still more work to do but I can not wait too see this finished...Part 2???

Hello Kitty!

Here's an example....even such a simple piece can be executed with expertise and made beautiful.  As an artist I realize daily that every piece should be your best...

Vibrant Tribal Swan

Really estatic I was able to tattoo this piece.  Customer and her family were overly pleasant and warming.  Definetly allowed for me to truly feel like Atlanta is really becoming my home.  Though she came in with the idea, I added my style and brought this swan to life with some subtle but drastic details.  As Miya Bailey said " BEAUTIFUL."

My Ideals about False Advertisement...

No matter where one goes in the world you'll always meet a false advertiser?  Now, some may ask what that is...to me it's a person who portrays an image of what they want to appear to be to society while masking reality.  Like false advertisement in the business world, these people are out to only gain personally because it's evidient the consumer is not relevant.

These feelings obviously arrived from an image; an image I drew.  It's a sketch I want the world to see...I think even though its a sketch its powerful.  There's so much meaning like most of my drawings...We'll just check it out...

She wears hearts like false advertisers wear JESUS PIECES.  Knowing she doesn't care...She is as weak aas her mind lost...gone...A straight HEARTLESS BITCH. - cake

What I was trying to get at in the image was hears a girl trying to portray that she is full of heart, and compasion when in actuality she is detached from herself...her body as you can see in the picture.  She lost sight of her, in order to satisfy the world.  When in actuality she is only satisfying herself because false advertising doesn't aid the world.

practice makes perfect even if I jump the line...

Poem : Proud to be an Alien

They label me an outcast...
stare because we ARE NOT of the same kind...
I dare to be different...
They try to close my mouth in hopes to dumb me down like
the society which SURROUNDS...
       But, still I speak loud...
I AM PROUD TO BE AN ALIEN.

Proud to be an Alien

A sketch I drew entitled, Proud to be an Alien.  Now, don't think I weird or anything.  Erase that because I am a little weird.  Well, definitely different.  But, different is good.

Cleaning out my closet...

Leaving Rochester cleared my mind and is already showing the better in me, not only as a person but too an artist.  Though this blog is all about the new...I'm going to let you glance at what I was as an artist.  Now, this is in no way a down-play of my career as an tattoo artist in New York.  I'm just trying to show the world my growth.

When I feel like I learned something new for that day...I feel like a true artist...
